Pre tattooing information

Design process

I work on designs in appointment order and leave
enough time during your appointment to make any
changes together, so nothing feels rushed.
To protect my artwork, I don’t usually send designs out in
advance. If you’re feeling anxious about your design, just
let me know and I can send it over the day before your appointment.
Designs can only be started once a booking fee has been paid.

Pricing

I charge per piece rather than by the hour,
so the price we agree beforehand is based on the design itself,
not the time it takes on the day.
Pricing is based on the size discussed when booking, so
please be as accurate as you can. If the design is made larger on the day, this may incur an additional cost.

ID Requirements

Please bring a valid, up to date form of ID with you. This
can be a passport, full or provisional driving licence, or PASS ID.

Booking Fees and Rescheduling

Booking fees are non refundable and deductible from
the final price of the tattoo,
but can be moved if you give at least 72 hours notice.
If less than 72 hours notice is given, the booking fee will
be forfeited and a new one will be needed to rebook.
If you need to cancel or rearrange,
please DM or email me as soon as possible.

Studio Policies

The studio is strictly 18+ and I do not tattoo anyone under the age of 18.You are welcome to bring one friend with you to your appointment. Please arrive on time, and no more than 10 minutes early,
as this helps keep the studio calm and not overcrowded.
If you are more than 20 minutes late, your booking fee
will be forfeited and you will need to book a new appointment.

Breaks

Breaks are always allowed. I usually suggest a quick 5 minute break
every 1.5 to 2 hours, and for longer day
sessions we will take a proper break for food.
If at any point you feel uncomfortable, need to move, or
want a break, just let me know. It is completely fine to speak up at any time.

Preparing for Your Tattoo

• Please avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours before and after your tattoo appointment. Alcohol thins the blood, which can cause excessive bleeding during the session, make the skin harder to work with, and affect how well the ink settles into the skin.
Drinking during the early healing stage can also increase swelling and
redness, slow the healing process, and prolong
irritation while the tattoo is still fresh.
• Please shower before your appointment• In the days leading up to your appointment, gentlyexfoliate and moisturise the area. Do not moisturise on the day as it can affect the stencil• Stay hydrated! Drink plenty of water before, during and after the tattoo• You can shave the area beforehand if you like, just be
careful not to irritate the skin. I can also do this for you if
needed (for tattoos on the head please get it done
professionally at a barbers/hairdresser beforehand to minimise shaving irritation)
• Make sure you eat within a couple of hours before your appointment, as an empty stomach is the main cause of feeling faint or unwell

What to bring

You are welcome to bring snacks or sugary drinks,
although these are also available in the studio.
Please avoid alcohol for 24 hours before your appointmentFor food, please either bring something with you or plan
to grab something nearby. The studio is located in the
town centre with plenty of quick food options,
but full meals are not provided in the studio.
Wear something comfortable that allows easy access to
the area being tattooed. Try not to wear anything too
precious, as ink can sometimes transfer.
You can bring things to help you relax and pass the time,
especially for longer sessions. Headphones, a pillow or
blanket from home, or a hot water bottle can all help. If
you want something to do, books, a Kindle, knitting, or a
Switch can work well depending on the placement of your tattoo.
Anything that causes too much movement might not be
suitable, and I may ask you to stop if it interferes with the tattoo.
Appointments take place in a private room. If you would
prefer, the door can be closed and a do not disturb sign put up.
It is up to you to bring clothing that helps you feel
comfortable and covered. For example, a shirt worn
backwards for back tattoos or shorts for leg tattoos.
Nipple covers are provided. There is a spacious bathroom if you would prefer to
change there, or I can step out of the room to give you privacy.
Please avoid sunbeds or sunbathing within 2 days of your appointment.

Touch Ups

First touch ups are free within 6 months, excluding hands, fingers and faces.Cover ups are not included in free touch ups, as they
often need multiple sessions or extra passes

Aftercare

Getting a new tattoo involves breaking the skin's surface, so there
is always a potential risk for infection to occur afterwards. Your
tattoo should be treated as an open wound initially, and this
advice must be followed so that the infection risk can be minimised.
Please use fresh clean bedding after a tattooPlease avoid letting any pets/animals near your tattoo whilst its
healing, they can easily introduce bacteria into the tattoo and cause infections.
If any clothing gets stuck to the healing tattoo thoroughly soak
the clothing in water then it will easily come off.
Avoid removing any stuck fabric whilst dry, which can cause damage to the tattoo.
Please avoid working out/going to the gym for 1-2 weeks with
avoiding heavy workout/contact sports for 3-4 weeks.
Avoiding soaking the tattoo for 4-6 weeks until visibly healed. This
includes baths/swimming and soaking hands/fingers in water when washing up/cleaning.
You can shower as normal during healing and can shower with
second skin on but not with cling film or tattoo armour.

WITH SECOND SKIN

Second Skin is a protective adhesive barrier that is
breathable and can be kept on while you shower.
The first piece of Second Skin can be left on the skin for 24 hours.
If it is holding on well with minimal bleeding, it can stay on for up to 3 days.
In case of excessive bleeding or weeping, the film can be removed, washed with fragrance-free soap, and pat dry with kitchen roll.
If required, you can apply a second sheet to your tattoo after 24 hours. This second application can be kept on for up to a week.HOW TO REMOVE SECOND SKINWe advise removing the Second Skin in the shower. Simply let
some warm water run over the tattoo film so that the adhesive
becomes tender and the removal of the film is easier.
Lift an edge of the film and stretch horizontally along the skin surface to
break the adhesive bond.
Continue stretching the edge of the film towards the centre.
Do not try to pull the film up and away from your skin.
When both sides of the film are partially removed, grab both
sides at the same time and stretch them horizontally and
parallel to the skin until the entire film lifts.
It is easiest to remove in the shower.Once removed, clean the tattoo with some gentle unscentedsoap and pat dry with a paper towel. If applying another sheet of Second Skin, leave the tattoo to
fully dry (do not use any creams at this point),
then apply a new sheet and leave for 3–7 days.
If leaving open, wash 2–3 times a day and start moisturising
once the tattoo stops weeping and starts to feel dry and tight.
Continue to moisturise 2–3 times a day using small amounts
worked gently into the tattoo with clean hands.

WITH TATTOO ARMOUR

(DRY HEAL)Always wash and dry your hands before and after handling a new tattoo. You can remove the pad the following morning after the
tattoo and gently wash the tattoo
Wash the tattoo after removing the pad and then 2-3 times
daily using a mild antibacterial soap and warm water, and pat
dry with clean paper towels. Do not use your normal towel, as
unwashed towels can transfer bacteria to your fresh tattoo.
Do not rub or the skin will become irritated. If using second skin the next day, remove the pad the morning after the tattoo, wash as directed above.Once fully dry apply second skin making sure the skin under is fully dry
do not moisturise before putting on second skin.
Once the tattoo starts to feel dry and tight and has stoppedweeping, apply a very thin coat of tattoo-specific
ointment/cream to the tattoo. Only use enough to make it
shine, a little goes a long way.
Too much ointment traps germs in your new tattoo which can
potentially lead to infection. There should be just enough to
keep the tattoo moist and to prevent scabbing. Do not re-bandage the tattoo.
Ointment can be applied whenever the tattoo is feeling stiff
or dry, but beware of over-moisturising. Do not use lotions
that contain colour or fragrance until the healing is complete.
It is best to sleep on clean, fresh bedding if possible on the
first night of your new tattoo. This is to protect your new tattoo from any germs that may be present.
The first 24 hours are the most important time to prevent infection.
You must keep your tattoo moisturised. When the tattoo is
kept moist, it doesn’t have a chance to form a scab.
It is normal for a thin layer of skin to peel off, very similar to a
sunburn (do not pick your tattoo, you will pull the ink out),
and it is perfectly normal to see small flakes of coloured skin
falling off during this stage of healing.
Avoid swimming, baths, sunbeds and sunbathing until your
new tattoo is healed (at least 2–3 weeks).
Try to wear loose cotton clothing to minimise rubbing and
irritation on a new tattoo.
Remember, the sun is bad for your tattoo. Whether the tattoo
is new or old, if you want it to look nice and heal properly,
keep it out of the sun. Wait until it is fully healed before going
back in the sun or using a tanning bed, and make sure you
use a high-quality sunblock. Never put sunblock on a tattoo
that is still healing.

WITH CLING FILM

(DRY HEAL)Always wash and dry your hands before and after handling a new tattoo. You can remove the cling film after a couple of hours. All
wounds need to breathe if they are to heal properly.
Wash the tattoo after removing the cling film and then 2-3 times
daily using a mild antibacterial soap and warm water, and pat
dry with clean paper towels.
